Types of Insulation Used
-
Polyisocyanurate: Polyiso is a closed-cell, rigid foam board insulation with facers made of various organic and inorganic materials. It is used in roofing, walls, ceilings, and specialty applications for both commercial and residential buildings.
-
Rock Wool: Mineral wool, also known as high-density mineral wool insulation, is commonly used to insulate industrial pipes and water heater tanks.
-
Fiberglass Blanket: Batt insulation, also known as roll insulation, consists of layers of fiberglass sandwiched between two pieces of paper or cardboard. It is primarily used between wall and floor joists and beams.
-
Fiberglass Board: This insulation is akin to fiberglass blankets but is made from fiberglass boards. It is commonly used to insulate HVAC ductwork.
-
Spray Foam: Spray foam insulation is applied using specialized pressurized equipment. It starts as a semi-liquid foam and transforms into a dense sealant once dried.
-
Loose-Fill Insulation: This insulation option consists of cellulose or fiberglass pellets and can also be sprayed into spaces. Its loose form makes it ideal for insulating irregularly shaped areas or spaces that don't accommodate traditional insulation effectively.
